Learn about various fertility treatments available

    EmilienBy EmilienJuly 27, 2022No Comments3 Mins Read

Did you know that coping with conceiving problems is quite difficult? The answer is yes because unless you put yourself in the shoes of these couples, you can never understand the struggles and frustrations they undergo. The problem is that even though there are different treatment options available, they might try all of them and still not solve their problem, causing stress and eventually depression. Having an overview and trial of these methods is recommended because you stand a chance of having your child with each method. Therefore, if you are battling infertility and want to try a fertility treatment that will work for you, New York Fertility Institute specialists provide treatment to both men and women. Let’s learn more about the types of fertility treatments below.

What are the types of fertility treatments available?

    •         intrauterine insemination and artificial insemination

Artificial insemination involves placing sperms collected from your sperm donor or pattern in your reproductive tract. For effective conception, sperms should be placed in your reproductive tract when ovulating. And if you have ovulation concerns, fertility drugs can be used to increase your chances of conception. On the other hand, intrauterine insemination is similar to artificial insemination. Still, it involves placing the sperms using a catheter and ensuring they are close to the oviduct, increasing the chances of the sperms meeting with the ovum. Both are indicated for couples dealing with poor sperm motility, low sperm count, or are of the same gender or single and want to conceive.

    •         In vitro fertilization

It involves fertilizing your eggs in the laboratory or fertility clinic. After successful fertilization, one or more embryos are then transferred to your uterus for implantation. In most cases, in vitro fertilization is used if intrauterine insemination and artificial insemination are unsuccessful. It is also indicated for people dealing with poor quality eggs, oviduct blockages, endometriosis, ovulation problems, or polycystic ovary syndrome.

    •         Donor eggs

It involves using donated eggs where they are fertilized and implanted into your uterus. The donor can be someone close to you or have some things in common. Therefore, using donor eggs implies that you will not be biologically related to your child but remain the birth mother. Therefore, to avoid issues after delivery, you are supposed to sign a contract with the egg donor in the presence of a lawyer. The contract is to give you all the rights to own the child.

    •         Surrogacy

This fertility treatment involves having another woman or couple carry the baby for you. During surrogacy, the embryo is usually implanted in the surrogate’s uterus. Usually, there is no genetic relation between the baby and the surrogate, but both parents have genetic ties to the baby. It is the best method for couples who want a child of their own but do not want to carry the pregnancy. Also, good for women who cannot sustain a pregnancy and gay couples.

    •         Egg freezing

It involves retrieving about ten to twenty eggs and freezing them for future use. When you are ready to conceive, one or more of the frozen eggs are fertilized and implanted into your uterus.

Generally, there are various fertility treatment options available if you and your partner who has been struggling with conception want to get pregnant. Therefore, if you are interested in trying any of the above treatment options, you can get started by consulting New York Institute fertility specialists today.
